Promotion

Your site is done! It’s on the internet! Now what? Now you make people aware of your site.

Simple and Easy

Let’s start with the simplest and easiest – your e-mail signature. Outlook and other e-mail clients allow you to create a standard e-mail signature. Put your tagline and your website address in your signature. At least the people you have contact with via e-mail will known how to find your site. Obviously you will add your website to all your other communication devices – stationery, business cards, etc.

SEO

SEO is part of promotion – a very important part. People can now find your site in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, BING… but there are other ways to bring people to your site. SEO requires regular attention. You must keep on top of your search engine rankings and you need to try different SEO strategies on a regular basis. Contact us for more information.

Social Media

You will have a Facebook fan page, a LinkedIn account, a Twitter account and a YouTube account – all of which will be branded and regularly updated. This is a critical aspect of promotion.

Paid Advertising

Google Adwords is probably the best known advertising medium. Be careful here – it’s very easy to spend money with no or little return. That said, paid promotion can be very effective if used and monitored properly.

Community

The other techniques are based on community. Get to know people and become known. Contribute to the community.

Newsletters

You should have your own newsletter, but you will also want to contribute to other newsletters in your community

Articles

Write articles for websites, newspapers, school bulletins… anywhere you can be published. It’s part of building community. Ensure that the articles are of high value to generate interest which will drive people to your site for further information.
